working at a grocery store should be listed in the geneva conventions. BUT, if you speak to customers sometimes and make up a new backstory everytime, itās not so bad ig. itās really fun when you have to keep up a game when they come back into the store and remember what accent/backstory you gave them. we had a running game, a coworker of mine had 4 different personalities with 4 different customers and only messed up when two came in on the same day.

i wouldnāt recommend doing this around your regular haunts, but occasionally iāll pretend my life circumstances are different to strangers in customer service interactions, just for my own laugh. example: iām buying 2 gallons of goat milk at the farm stand, the woman behind the counter says, āthatās a lot of milk!ā, i reply, āi have family to feedā (i am unmarried and have no kids).
OR
i walk into a lamp to store check the price of a stained glass rooster lamp. the owner says ā135ā, i say, āokay cool, going to go run it by the wife!ā (iām gay).
typing this out makes me realize this will really only ever be funny to you and will only be fun if the false identity is so far from who you are. if youāre just gassing up aspects of your life then it becomes weird and maybe psycho.

one of my go-toās is coming up with a scenario like ādo you know someone with (weirdly specific features) cus i just heard them talking about someone and it sounded like your nameā and i fully commit to the bit to the point where i have to consider cutting them off because itās getting too serious.

i think this feeling is so human. as much as i try to think that i want to just live alone, and only have the love for my friends and family, i know deep down thats not entirely true. i hadnāt found any solace in this idea until i stopped fighting that denial. embrace that it isnāt today but it also isnāt never! use that longing to fuel your passions, realize the yearning is a good thing, you want to love, you have so much potential to love.
