It's not pretentious but it is old so a little adjustment needed - they're short, sweet (which is why they get adapted every 3 seconds), and she has something for literally every interest
y'all, i'm halfway through the book and it's a banger!! do NOT be intimidated by it. it's such an accessible classic! (this is coming from a gal who love love loves 'pride and prejudice' and 'little women' and knows those are a lil tricky to understand.)
