Yes I know about the other one. Yes Iāve seen it and yes itās better. For some reason though this movie moved me. I donāt know anything about Bob Dylan. Never been a fan (donāt like his voice) but what I appreciated about the film is the way they showed him constantly working. I havenāt written anything in months. Iāve pushed it off, saying to myself āwhatās the point, nobody wants this, nobody needs thisā. Seeing him push ahead and not be bogged down by what people wanted from him was inspiring as hell to me. So many people tried to box him in and keep him from experimenting with his art, which to me is the death of an artist. Weāre meant to try. Thatās all just try. Even if it will be a complete failure and laughed at, the act of trying is what makes art beautiful. I thought it was an ok movie. But seeing someone trying really hit me and me me realize that I need to make shit for me. Thatās what Bob did.

a really weird movie. one of those movies where youāre thinking āthis movie is fucking weirdā while watching, but youāre left with a good feeling when itās over. what i took from it, considering myself a songwriter, is that you canāt project onto artists or strive to be like them. everyoneās got their own struggle, sometimes itās secret. i love domhnal gleeson too, so that makes it even better.

i never thought iād find my 10/10 movie but i think this is it
iām moved, amazed, and also feel seen somehow
every detail made such an impact
between the living situation and dustin hoffmannās supreme performance, it brought me to tears so many times
i never knew how much one movie could impact so much of cinema, even freaking elf
i donāt need to watch another movie for a long time lol
i could write a book on all of this, yet iām astounded and lacking words
i think joe buck represents so much of the innocence/naivety we start with in life (also omg i couldnāt believe that was jon voight at first!)
and i feel like rizzo ratzo rico is the polar opposite, jaded reality of what it feels like in the real world. his pain came through so strong and hit me like a bunch of swords to the soul.
thereās so much more to it than just that but thatās all for now.
