Hear me out Catch-22 is a raucous epic detailing the fictional escapades of a WW2 bomber pilot named Yossarian. The book is famous for pointing out the mind-boggling and truly bureaucratic rules we as humans box in ourselves with. One of the reasons I love this book is that it has a huge cast of characters who each portray unique personalities you may encounter in everyday life. After reading it, you can identify certain people you meet as "Milo Minderbinder" or "Doc Daneeka" (kind of like astrology, right?). The book goes from hilarious highs to tragic lows... As it still very much is, a war. If you like the comedy style of movies like Airplane, you may enjoy this book! Now fair warning, the book isn't without its faults, it is most definitely written from the pov of a cis-het-white man with all the baggage intact (deplorable language your grandpa would use, tried and true stereotypes, and objectifying women to the umpteenth degree) but let's say it's all for the bit and keep it rolling P.S. I don't believe the Hulu series does the book justice and I would actually highly recommend the audiobook read by Jay O. Sanders! P.S.S. I have compiled what I imagine to be the ultimate cast of this story, featuring actors both dead and alive, reach out to me if you would like to hear it or have suggestions :)

Vonnegut is my favorite writer and I've been looking for similar stuff. Catch-22 gets a lot of SH5 comparisons for a good reason. Similar themes and really funny. Pynchon is a great postmodern writer, though more challenging than Vonnegut - maybe try Crying Of Lot 49. Palahniuk is a more contemporary writer and a lot darker, but extremely good and has some fantastic prose. Fight Club is worth the hype. He was recommended to me by a fellow Vonnegut fan as the closest thing. Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas is also amazing. Have fun!

Read this because i really love his movies and i recommend it to any other charlie kaufman fans. It’s told from the point of view of a super unlikable narrator which might be a turn off for some but if that interests you then this book is really funny and really insane with a million different things going on. a must read if you like his movies💯

if you’re a silly goon that likes watching cartoons all the time but needs a screen break, but still in need of a laugh. you should pick up a book and read John Swartzwelder - he wrote 59 episodes of The Simpsons and is a 100% surreal and absurd…

This cafe that I used to go to in college would make an Orange Cream Matcha Milkshake and to this day that is my favorite matcha mix! It sounds crazy but it was really good!
