if you walked into my room at any given time between ages 12-16, this was 1000% on my screen. or ahs murder house. thats not an exaggeration: this stupid little film was my way of life for years and years and years, my comfort watch.
its a classic that every emo kid has seen, surely, but i am certain that no sane human could possibly NOT respect/enjoy it even if you arent emo/never fw them.
a concert divided into two acts with a full fucking circus on tour with them. full burlesque dancer breaks and an intermission. most impressive of all? bassist (jon) is the oldest in this clip at like 21 i think? brendon urie was 18, ryan ross 19, spencer 16.
so brilliant it blows my mind every time

Brendon Urie is so so sweaty, Ryan Ross is singing backup, the cabaret theming is ridiculous and stupid and perfect. Do you ever really outgrow being emo? I don’t think so. Emo forever.

i was seeing the legendary midwest emo act Capn Jazz live at The Warsaw last night and told my friend "when they play the Take On Me cover, put me up"
the encore rolls around and they play it- next thing i know im crowd surfing while screaming every word.
i get thrown over the barrier and suddenly im standing next to Tim Kinsella who then forces me to sing the next chorus on the stage in front of everyone
adrenaline took over and next thing i knew i was shouting the chorus. voices cracks and all
never be too cool to crowd surf, mosh in the pit, and lose yourself in the music

I have honestly never had more fun at a show than at Faux Real‘s show last month and since then they‘ve been living rent free in the air head bnb of my mind.
think an alt pop Gen Z Backstreet Boys meets all of your favourite 80s film montage sequences crossed with the are they going to fuck or kill each other intensity of their dance routines and you’re part of the way there.

i have such a hard time getting through movies, its brutal and unfortunate. i am fully aware im missing out on some critical pieces of art in consequence, but if isnt both predominantly psychological thriller and as quickly paced as oppenheimer, its super hard to keep me engaged.
i will talk about this movie until the end of time. despite minimal dialogue and the most clinical atmosphere to be captured by means of cinematography, the lack of information and consequential unpredictability kept me thoroughly enticed and fully unnerved for the full two hours. minimalism weaponized for max intensity with no certain direction; epitomization of surrealist thriller.
watching it for the first time without context nor any expectations is an invaluable experience.
