I often find myself forcibly listening to people I'm talking to just because I want to get out what I want to say. But I've recently been learning how much I can learn by just shutting up and listening intently to others talk.

I‘ve always been an adamant listener of music while on walks, at a cafe, etc. but recently I’ve feeling more anxious, more disconnected than usual. Not listening to music has helped me feel significantly more grounded, more aware of my surroundings, connected to the world around me. Also, strangers will definitely be more inclined to speak to you if they know you can hear them. If you’re into that sort of thing.
