and not saying that from a negative place, but it's nearly impossible to actualize your dreams and be present in the moment when it happens. more likely by the time you achieve your dreams, you'll already have new dreams so basically the dream target will always be moving but that's what makes life fun! without having something to perpetually be striving for what's the point :)

But the inverse is also true that the totality of human experience is too complex and big and beautiful to fit into this flattened narrow thing we envision in our minds. The work is in reconciling our vision with the fruit of our labor we come to see before us and making peace with that, and maybe even iteratively redefining what we consider as success and why it matters to us

i'd say, to being content in the moment, this existence is all too frail to constantly be wishing you were somewhere else or the circumstances were different. it might sound easier said than done but the cycle of 'wanting' is never ending. when you're somewhere else you'll be wishing for different things and never fully enjoy/be where you are. i think you can consciously push for certain things to change, and they will, but there's certainly a reason you are where you are right now

😳✋🏻hear me out🤚🏻😳 sometimes our dreams are no longer a source of motivation or inspiration and sometimes we cling so hard to them that we cause ourselves a lot of mental anguish and disappointment. We attach our identity to things like getting our dream job and when we don’t get the job our sense of self collapses. Lately I‘ve been thinking a lot about the Jenny Holzer phrase, “Protect me from what I want,” and how it can be so freeing to let desire drop away to remember the things you already have. Such as innate worthiness as a human being regardless of the dream you couldn’t obtain 🫶🏻

disregard digital validation and don't let numbers be a gauge of how well you're doing. starting out with a small and loyal reader base is way more important than having a million subscribers
