I logged a lot of childhood hours with books in fields. I grew up in an upper midwestern state full of rolling hills and forests and lakes. It just made sense to go lay in an alfalfa field, watch the wide open sky, hear the hum of insects, and get lost in a book.
still a favorite activity!
— is this my favorite-favorite activity from childhood? Struggling to come up with any competition. So, yeah!
i miss being a kid, my brain not yet fried by short form media, being able to read at least two whole chapter books a day with ease. trying to get back into it by treating myself like my own kid, taking myself to the park for some mandatory reading time. i Also thought it’d be a good idea to do it anywhere but home bc i have a tendency to read on the couch or in bed & instantly fall asleep, so im trying to condition myself to not be so sleepy everytime i start turning pages lol
I love being outside on the grass and reading a book! I get to say hi to people I know that pass by, and feel the sun warm on my skin. It’s the best :)
this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
