recently started dark souls after one year when i had quit. my god what a gorgeous franchise. figuring out the story by reading item descriptions and making your own theories about the lore is so much more rewarding than it being spoonfed to you. the music, the cinematics, the gameplay, the character designs oh my god everything is lovely also love how quitting dark souls and then coming back to it a year later to fall in love with it is a global phenomenon lmao

It is NOT a perfect game, but it was the perfect game for me. I love this game so much that I beat it, and then instantly made a new character to beat it again, and then ran New Game + and ++ in order to Platinum it. Plus I just watched Jermas stream highlights of his whole Dark Souls playthrough so it’s safe to say I’m obsessed.

Alice Madness Returns - first played it in my first year of uni at 18 and it became my whole personality, recently replayed it and it basically happened again. The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood - a recent play and the game that has me considering becoming a game writer Death’s Door - dark souls for cutie pies. i just find this endlessly repayable because the controls feel so nice for me. Also the first “hard game” I played that convinced me “hard games” aren’t out of my ability. Final Fantasy X - the first “real game” I played on my ps2 when I was like 10. my friends used to make fun of me for not going out to play after school because I was doing anotber ffx replay. Shout out to the spyro trilogy and Spiritfarer - the endlessly replayable basis for my favourite kind of gameplay, and the first game to make me cry, respectively.

Seeing someone play a game you love for the first time is always so fun, especially when it’s a game that encourages different playstyles and builds. Observing how someone else thinks about a game differently and problem solves in a completely separate path from you is awesome and reminds you how unique every single person is. Thinking about this because I‘m watching a streamer I follow start Bloodborne and reminiscing on my experience.

I'll start using this website to log albums that I have listened to - like letterboxd but for music! recommended to me by royallmonarch I listened to this yesterday, 16th September, and I recommended it to like 5 more people in my college today. It has grown on me so much. I had never heard of this duo, and i was just blown away. soooo cool! their instrumantation and vocals and ideas, all so fresh and lovely. for some reason i really connected to the song titles also lol. i dont have a proper analysis for this just yet, but i really really enjoyed listening to it and again thank you nick for the reccomendation! more album reviews(?) coming soon next one is Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie (listening to it as im writing this)
