well, I did it.
But I didn't like it.
poor sleep, headaches, and other issues persuaded me that I ought to take a break from my usual daily coffee rhythm of 4-5 double shot americanos. (That's 8-10 shots of espresso.)
here's what I did last week: - Tuesday - 1/2 the usual caff amount - Wed - 1/3 caff - Thurs - 1/4 caff - Friday - 1/8 caff - Saturday, Sunday, Monday - zero caff
today is the first headache-free day. Not sure if I'm going to ease back in after a few weeks or what.

I used to drink a lot of caffeinated drinks aswell. But 8-10 shots of coffee is a lot. Good luck to you!

I quit coffee earlier this year (never went completely off like you did, so props), and despite being a generally sleepy person, I found my body has adjusted to matcha and green tea instead. I had to do it for some other stuff going on but found it also helps my sleep, and if I really need a pick me up, I drink chai tea instead of like the largest dark roast coffee they’ll sell you

Almost four weeks now without caffeine. I fucking love coffee, but this is one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a while. Better sleep, no more feeling like a zombie in the morning, less anxiety. 5/5.

Idk why I really decided to do this but I went a whole week without having coffee. Mind you, I usually drink 2 cups a day which seems pretty like average if you ask me. So the week before, I started weaning off by only having 1 cup of coffee a day to try and minimize any withdrawal symptoms and it kinda worked! No headaches or anything that unpleasant for me, it was just really hard to focus and concentrate for a couple days. But after that it was pretty cool to not need any coffee to get through the day and work week. For some reason I was also a lot more mindful about my fluid/water intake as well.
Anyways, my break ended today with me making a cup with my sweet Aeropress lmao. If there's anything I learned from this experience, it's that I don't need coffee but it can also be a nice addition. After all, coffee/caffeine is so normalized and ingrained in our culture and routines. It's nice to be able to participate in that social phenomenon. Going forward I plan on being more mindful and intentional with my consumption. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Decaf is my new best friend. I haven’t had a caffeinated cup of coffee in over a week and I’m falling asleep faster and I‘ve got more consistent energy levels now. Trust me you can do it!!
Pro-tip: It’s all about decaf. I’m not going to deny myself the coffeeshop experience or the taste of a cappuccino just because I don’t want caffeine in my system.
