Both Automata and Replicant. Typical good vs. evil Japanese action/adventure on the surface, but slowly reveals in-depth questioning of morality by re-evaluating core game mechanics.

I always learn so much from playing Yoko Taro's games but this one hit like nothing I’ve experienced before. It actually pushed me to finish my album. It’s such a beautifully confusing story. A tale of androids and machines questioning if they are actually alive or not. With this you have to beat it multiple times to experience the entire thing. (Endings A-E) One alternate ending can be found within minutes of starting the game. The credits even roll but at triple speed. The hardest one to get “Ending E” took me about 40 hours over the course of a few months and It’s one of the greatest endings in any type of media period in my opinion. I won’t dare spoil it. If you like weird games and if you like beautiful strange stories about existentialism please play this

Ridiculous title I knowwww but I'm 20 hours into this game and I've been enjoying it quite a bit so far! It's basically Persona (I mean, it's made by the same people haha) with a high fantasy skin. I find this premise great bc I love the Persona gameplay loop but the contemporary high school setting does get stale.

Currently installing this as I type on a whim because I saw a trailer and I thought it might be a good follow up from just finishing replaying Alice:Madness Returns for the millions time. I was after 3D action adventure with hack n slash fighting, dark beautiful graphics and a female protagonist…so the choices were slim. Will report back if it’s any good!
