I mostly do selfportraits with watercolours inherited from my mum and greatgrandma. I find that it helps me process and communicate emotions + it's easy to get reference pictures. (i also draw other people, like lovers and friends, sometimes)

my artistic side has atrophied lately but starting to get back into it as i realize it's.. huge for my mental health. extremely low barrier to entry. give it a try and open yourself up to experimentation on a rainy day. go crazy. i painted a self-portrait using a mixture of ash, water, and coffee grounds.

one thing iโ€˜ve learned in any and every trying time in my life... if no one got me, my watercolors do. iโ€™ve kept a watercolor journal consistently since i was a lil kid. it was how i learned to make art, painting by my lonesome in my room. though i canโ€™t argue iโ€™m goodโ€ฆ the creative practice i made all those years ago makes it sacred.
