in 1985, personal documentary king Ross McElwee recieved a grant to make a doc about Sherman's March through the south during the Civil War, and instead he got distracted by his personal life & made a 2 1/2 hour film about his trials and tribulations in love. i think you can watch on amazon with a free trial for one of their random channels

I love his one about 1970s Canadian teens called Come On Children (1971) but Warrendale (1967) is also great. I have not seen the one about marriage. My Life As A Turkey (2011) was a PBS/BBC documentary that is so beautiful. You think it's just your average nature doc but the music is great and it tells a story that really has little to do with nature and more about the human condition.

Marshawn Lynch is my hero. Thank you David Shields & co for compiling 700 snippets of found footage to put together a beautiful piece of art showcasing the power of silence protest in the face of obnoxious media. just watch and be in awe. trust

This has been one of my comfort documentaries for years. It follows an Appalachian family (specifically in Kentucky) who have been living in the same hollow for seven generations. So sweet and sad and real. The whole thing is on YouTube, so you can watch for free. Link above!

My favorite chrisnol movie is Interstellar & Stephanie's is The Prestige. He just knows what he's doing and the fact that his wife produces his films is hopefully a good sign we can trust the guy
