After you’ve exhausted your resources, spoken your mind and truth, sometimes all that is left for you to do is smile, say thank you and walk away with dignity. You tried your best to feel seen and understood, and they just don’t get it and that’s okay. There are people that do.

I’m not advocating for taking everything lying down, to never speak your mind if you need to. But if you can… Sometimes it’s best to move on and let it be. It’s no use staying angry forever, that leaves you bitter and resentful. Forgiveness feels good.

I have stopped listening and reacting to people who can't speak with respect. They are yelling at you? laugh and leave. They are trying to hurt you? don't cry and leave, don't gift them a reaction, cry later with people you feel safe with or by yourelf. You know that, at the end of the day, they won't change your opinion so why would you waste energy in purposeless fights.

I’m realizing we’re entering the second week of February. Every time I saw someone complaining about how long January was and how many lifetimes they experienced within that single month, a part of me was really annoyed. This current pace of February is likely how the remainder of the year will be, and before you know it we’re complaining about the upcoming January. Ground your feet and enjoy your days as they come. Oh and thank you to the month of January, I will try to match that pace until we meet again.
