Honestly, that's a more consistent go-to with visitors than any restaurant. Sometimes we grab sushi on the way. Or pack our own little picnic. More than once I brought a little backpacking stove and heated water and made delicious pour-over coffee. The art of conversation while reclining on a picnic blanket and propped up by own elbow may take a lifetime to master. I'm here for the challenge.

I’m lucky enough to live in a city that has over 200 parks, of all shapes and sizes. my favorite being the one within walking distance of my apartment with this great lake next to it. The lake features a 3 mile walking/biking loop and lots of grass. I often rollerskate around the lake for exercise! But, lately, i’ve been reminded of the simple pleasure that is picnicking here. Just me, a blanket, a book, a snack, and a dream. (For those following along I also finally finished Martyr and am veryyy pleased) Here’s yesterday‘s venture for reference ⬇️

1. order takeout 2. pack some creature comforts 3. find a good spot (one in which you can watch a kid fish with his dad or a bigger bird murder a small bird in cold blood) 4. read stories to each other or tell jokes

this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
