David Lynch understands the blend of a country twang with EDM distortions and sounds. As emblematic on his eclectic and masterful track “Strange and Unproductive Thinking,” he has a lot to say, much of it incoherent, in ways relatable and all the more interesting with a crunchy and dance-able beat. I want to hear that at a party, as it best encapsulates the true essence of a party- communal existentialism.

😃
electroacoustic artist with serious avant-garde cred making some of the most batshit glitch pop/plunderphonic dance(?) electro-skronk magic in his 70s. Samples include "One Last Time" by Ariana Grande, "Strawberry Blonde" by Mitski and a whole bunch of others that i'm sure a more ear-savvy user could come up with. FFO: A.G. Cook DJ Mixes, Arca Side-Projects (WENCH!!), Fucking Around In Audacity, Sampledelia, Old Men?

I’m largely unfamiliar with LSDXOXO’s tunes but this new album rocks. Sorta indie/emo/sad party vibes with David Guetta “Sexy Bitch”-era synths. Hard to compare to much else, but it’s sick.

What if the entire Splice library was launched into the ether, prompting a Pokemon-esque scavenger hunt to catch ‘em all? This is what ear pulls off. And yet, the duo’s voices are the best instruments in the mix. Chopped notes and cheeky whispers and sharp breaths abound in their latest singles, “Fetish” and “Valley Serpent.” A cut-and-sew craft project of a song, “Fetish” shows impressive restraint for as long as possible before mutating multiple times. It’s not just a glazed ambient track, or bass-boosted electronic, or .5 speed breakcore. The disjointed lyrics are hypnotically aphasic, as if having a stroke could be a beautiful experience. “Valley Serpent” has the same structureless setup, shrouding a poignant piano ballad in blown-out artificial noise. For all they add, they know when to get minimal. The gentle recitation “feels like a burden” is scripted to haunt. The most Lynchian release of the year! - Madeline Frino

In pre-21st century movies and media, we always see couples that go to bed, independently read their books, and once sleepy, clap off the lights and peacefully retire to sleep. Maybe there’s a reason this trope is so common! Maybe couples who read together, sleep together!!
Reading before bed regulates my brain and body in ways I did not know were possible. Screens are bad for you, specifically and especially before bedtime… who knew! And with a good nights sleep I have so much energy to do things, including but not limited to more reading.

Collecting a stack of printed takeout menus from local restaurants is equivalent to finding community in your town/city. I love to get off my phone and flip through a printed menu when deciding what to order for dinner, appreciating the graphic design choices and the hometown staples on each menu.
And they are only wasteful if you waste them! What great material for emergency note-taking, for adorning your fridge, for COLLAGING! Oh my goodness what great and meaningful content organically exists in a printed takeout menu from your favorite local spot.

I fear one of the top reasons I get out of bed for my perhaps boring, often drab desk job is to wear outfits that are neither boring or drab! Do my coworkers entirely understand why I wear my layers? Not necessarily, but they’re learning!
Today I wanted to feature my “Gemini” pin to celebrate the season and my upcoming birthday in eight days!
