This movie rocks. You could actually watch it on mute and just observe the rich color palette and cinematography but then you'd be missing out on Vanessa Redgrave and Jane Birkin's dreamy accents and also the scene at the end where The Yardbirds play noisy rock to a room of stoic 1960's Brits. Also the wardrobe is amazing, people were really dressing back then.

In the 1971 film Klute, life has call girl Bree Daniels (Jane Fonda) spiraling hard, so she jumps out of a moving car and runs to the after hours club, as one does. The place is popping, the Ann Roth costumes are perfect and as “Bree’s Abandon (Take It Higher)” blasts through the club, our heroine’s mood is dark. She makes out, falls down, hugs Candy Darling, finds her old pimp Frank (Roy Schneider!) and just lets her chaos flow. Bree’s shag haircut is one of the most important haircuts of the twentieth century and as it gets sweatier, shaggier and more incredible as the scene progresses, we witness Jane snatch that first Oscar win DOWN!

an older couple came in for dinner and totally stiffed me on the tip which was disappointing but shitty tips and math mistakes happen on occasion, so though I was disapointed because I thought we were vibing, I entered the bad tip and got on with it. they came back as soon as we opened the next day with an envelope with $10 and this note. I love that they went above and beyond even for a small mistake like this, I wouldn’t have remembered in like a week but the universe tracks on this stuff yknow.
