I got a lot of food allergies. But this one I can have. Itā€™s creamy (with no dairy), and pesto-y (with no alliums if you donā€™t want to add ā€™em). My fav recipe got taken down so I added this one which is similar if not the same. I recommend adding 2 TBS of unfortified nutritional yeast and maybe some chicken as your protein. But holy frick is it SO good. (pictured: lost recipe from a site no longer up)

following sharkambush ā€˜s orders, hereā€™s some food content from my dinner tn. this is a super easy recipe that makes a ton of food One Pan Pasta - ingredients: 8oz can tomato paste 16oz can tomato sauce half an onion 3 strips of bacon a pack of baby bella mushies a pack of sweet italian sausage like half a bag of kale a bunch of frozen peas jarlic harissa olive pesto lil bit o butter spices (quantities as inclined by culinary spirit): cumin onion powder salt pepper paprika chili powder garlic powder soy sauce msg powdered mushroom umami spice garam masala rosemary Italian herb and spice mix total time: idk šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø not that long, up to 2 hrs if you really wanna get your sauce simmerin. thereā€™s a lot of this you could cut out or do less of for time trust your heart Directions - start by filling a pot with water and salt and brining to boil. watch it as you start the rest and cut the heat once it reaches boil until youā€™re ready to start with the pasta. cutting both pieces of bacon in half and cooking in a deep pan. chop an onion while the bacon cooks. once the bacon is cooked, take it out and toss in the onions. let the onions cook and chop the baby bellas while they do. once onions are transparent, maybe a bit of brown, toss in the mushrooms to cook. while they cook, prep your spices. my blend tonight was an assortment of my spice cabinet as so persuaded, but I started by blooming the cumin, paprika, chili powder, garam masala, and rosemary in the cooking mushrooms and onions. after the spices become aromatic, toss in the whole lil thing of tomato paste. donā€™t save like half for later in the fridge, it will get moldy I promise. once youā€™ve incorporated everything in the pan into the paste, toss in a lil water from the pasta pot to break it up. then bring the heat up to a high medium and add the tomato sauce, cover with a pan while the sauce cooks down. taste every once in a while and add whatever spices you please but I added the soy sauce, msg, umami spice, salt, pepper, italian herb and spice blend, a scoop or harissa, a couple scoops of olive pesto, butter, and ocasionally pasta water at this stage. while the sauce cooks down, chop up the sausages and then get them sautĆ©ed in a pan. once the sauce tastes how you like and is dark and thick, toss the pasta in the boiling water until cooked to your preferred done-ness. i used rotini but use whatever shape tickles your fancy as per the perfectlyimperfect ask today. once pasta is cooked, drain and reserve a bit of pasta water to loosen the sauce a tad. set the pasta aside until the sauce finishes. once the sauce looks ready, toss like half a big bag of chopped kale in there. take out the stems before this. let em shrink in the sauce and also toss in some frozen peas. once thatā€™s all introduced, toss in the sausages and the bacon if you could resist eating the bacon while you cooked (I could not). now youā€™ll have the picture below and you can toss it all over a big plate of pasta. top with grated parmesan, salt and pepper to taste.

Obviously major shoutout to lentils but thatā€™s been said. Creamy protein pasta is like my version of boxed mac and cheese during the week. Blend up silken or soft tofu with nutritional yeast and miso + pepper + salted pasta water and mix with chickpea pasta for extra protein. Wilt some spinach in there and youā€˜re set.

Zines (yes they are pronounced zeens, like the end of magazines) are independently published works. The simplest format to make them from is from instant zines, made from one piece of paper, folded a few times, and cut only once. I made my first zine in college and through my major (printmaking) I met some upperclassmen who ran zine club. A group where we collaborated, collected, and made zines together. I learned a lot from making zines and helping run zine workshops and running a zoom class during quarantine. And during quarantine again, finding an online zine club where we would make zines and just bitch about life. Anyone can make a zine, just like anyone can make art. They can be just about anything. They can be made from any format, they can be printed or drawn any way. They donā€™t have to be perfect, but they are the perfect vessel to get your thoughts, feelings, and art out into the world or to just keep it to yourself. (Linked is brattyxbreā€™s YouTube channel with tutorials, history of zines, and art. Pictured is my personal zine library which is my most cherished collection)

I saw them live with my best friend, Bean. It was a smaller venue (not the smallest). They played mostly their newer (at the time) songs from the album Pollen, but I recommend going back in time to Cape Dory and making your way through all the albums to Pollen. If you have time and energy to. The single, Marathon, was on apple iTunesā€™ free music thursdays (??? miss it though/was it even thursdays) and little mickey found it and downloaded it in 2012. I donā€™t even think I had an iPod then. But Iā€™ve been listening to them ever since. At the show I went to with Bean, they had a little Q&A and they talked about soulmates (itā€™s a wife and husband duo), how they donā€™t believe in them, but they still think finding each other was fate. Canā€™t recommend this band enough.

This is probably one of my favorite movies. Itā€™s also awful. With a stacked cast of Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Hart, Donald Sutherland, it might make you wonder, why the fuck havenā€™t you heard of it. Well it sucks. Itā€™s like watching reality TV, a car crash you canā€˜t take your eyes off of. Itā€™s somehow bad but in a really good way. Bad in a way where you could see how it could have been good but itā€™s not disappointing the way it turned out. I love this movie. If youā€™re looking for a good, bad time, I recommend it.
