I decided to learn Mandarin partly for my grandma, and now that she's gone I just wish I knew more about her life, and her family before marriage, before kids, you know what I mean?
Now that I'm older and able to travel, I do wish that I had more time with her (as selfish as it sounds) and I miss her terribly. I ask my parents lots of questions though so it's not too bad!
Cherish them if they're good to you, most times elders can be awful too.

👨It’s been 3-4years since I last saw my grandma…
I sat and listened to her tell me stories about our family that I had no idea about…
I noticed the way she would speak about certain things and got to learn her point of view on various topics of life...
realizing I get a lot from her.
I started seeing myself in her, not only in the way she viewed the world but
her face began to look a lot like mine.
An older version of myself.
I wonder if I’ll be just like her when I’m older…
I wonder if that was a glimpse into my future…

Please talk to your grandparents!!!!!!! Ask your poppop to describe a Christmas morning from when he was a child in as much detail as possible. Ask your mommom what her favorite music was when she was 14. Ask them about their grandparents or their favorite animal or what food they hated to eat a a kid.
My grandparents died 8 years ago and I still cry about missing them. I hope I never stop crying about them!

🥪This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
