I feel like the āone brand for the rest of your lifeā part of the ask is being overlooked. Sure, for work and day-to-day stuff a lot of brands cover those bases. But what about wedding attire? What about any sort of suiting? All seasons? Something you can wear today and still want to wear in ten, twenty, thirty years? Thereās a long term strategic game to consider. For luxury itās easy to go for whatever is hyper popular now, but youāll look silly wearing some of these brands in your 70ās. Think timeless and versatile, think about the collabs the brand does that cross into other life tasks. I think Drakes is one of the best at hitting every single season, every situation. The other only answer I can think of that might not fall under typical luxury is Ralph Lauren with the massive umbrella of sub-brands.

Iām going to assume ānormalā means things regular humans wear that donāt cost $$$$$$. I peeped some of the other recs and they had a lot of great options. Some broad thoughts:
ā¢ Thrifting is incredible...if you know what youāre looking for. Itās worth spending some time doing research / time in the stores feeling all the things yourself.
ā¢ GAPās new creative department is incredible and theyāre honestly the best all-around normal mall brand. Fits are great. Materials are thoughtful and rational (their linen stuff has been shockingly good).
ā¢ I am a loyal cultist to J Crew (and her younger, edgier, hotter sister in Madewell). The menās department is currently way ahead of the womenās ā SHOP THE MENS DEPARTMENT! This is peak era of women-wearing-menswear so abuse it.
ā¢ Everlane is good, their fits are hit or miss though. Iād say if you can go to a physical store try stuff on there.

I feel like thereās a special connectivity on this app that I havenāt felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010ās tumblr. The fact that you canāt promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isnāt mass video content like Tik Tok is great. Itās not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup).

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. Itās made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love.
I just never thought Iād feel the same way about URL friends. Iām constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed.
Itās nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. Iām going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
