his other project, carwash, is a lot more popular with a more hyperpop, indie rock sound. but the conceptual world of Postcard Boy feels so special and a lost art form for post-2020 music.

feels like such a timeless album. i’ve returned to it so many times purely because of how unapologetic it is in terms of its angst and unconventional, “homemade” sound.
escape in an album. amazing musical storytelling both in its creation of an aural landscape and in straightforward exposition.

forever one of my favorite fusions of indie electronic. such textural and futuristic production alongside wonderful songwriting that had me wistfully staring out into the world before i’d even started middle school. me and my ipod touch couldn’t get enough and i still can’t.

started truly believing in it a few years ago when i first moved to nashville. there are a lot of things i don’t like about my life, down to daily tasks like having to wait for a bus despite being an impatient person, up to not being proud of my own family dynamic, but i'm learning to make peace with it—this is the one life i’m gonna have, and some things i just can’t change, whether that’s for now or for a long while
