This guy I sort of half-know really likes Glenn Branca so I listened to a few of his songs. Heโs really great. Lots of huge, almost uncomfortable, waves of sound, but he never gets stuck in one particular style. I like โYou Got Me,โ it has this punchy, sort of electronic beat to it. Songs โ77 - โ79 is a great album to check out.
went to a cinema club - this is what it's all about. community is real! even in the city! it's not all over. i watched natural enemies and boxing helena with my friend and ally charlie. the first was awesome, the second was less so - but arguably more fun. sherilyn fenn is not a star, she is something else entirely.
I run a zine where I just write about stuff I like. A lot of it is music focused but I really write about whatever feels relevant at the moment. I just published one where I interviewed a local Portland band so if that interests you, you should for sure check it out.
