a great, easy-listening album that i feel everyone can get behind when they hear it – a big crowd-pleaser at kickbacks. massive contender for album of the summer on my rotation.
I feel a lot of ppl overlook this one when it comes to NYC dance - Rapture itself was huge but this whole album has so many bangers and Nadia’s voice on ever track is like honey. this took years to come out but it’s still my go to album I know il put it on and enjoy it so much.
idk what i can say to hype this up other than its so good. my friend put me on this one recently and i’m so sad i wasn’t on top of it earlier. the disco remix of “the afterparty” is insanely good. the album overall has an intimate sort of nostalgia while still being an ambitious work that feels complete.
i remember the time that i showed my parents Election for the first time... then we watched it three times that week. (they wanted to watch it with everyone we knew.)
they also recently loved Julio Torres's Problemista.
saw this collab at the met the other week. it's not a favorite or even a single painting, but the intentional placement added so much and each work was the better for it.
@ curators, we should bring back unique installations in galleries. 🤝
