could you DIY it? maybe this is a bad answer since it’s not an artist rec lol but it’s not too difficult especially if you practice first on something of your own! tbf i did have a sewing class in middle school but i’ve stitched up and embroidered my own clothes long since and it’s not very hard! there’s lots of tutorials on youtube and all you need are some embroidery needles and embroidery thread! :)

There are so many DIYs you can do ranging from super easy to more complex to change up your clothes. Iron on/ sew on patches, fabric paint, cutting/ cropping, adding panels to change the shape, dyeing, studding, etc. Not every option may be for you, but it’s worth a look into!

i love collecting cool screenprinted patches or embroidered badges from art markets or online shops and sprucing up any item i own with them! or you can use scraps from clothes you’ve cut up previously if you wanna upcycle and not throw waste away. it’s like a sticker in cloth form, and i can customize my belongings and give it my personality :D just take a needle and thread, and learn some basic backstitches or zigzag stitches, and handsew on some cool looking squares! you can take this project wherever you go, and it’s good to put on music or a movie and zone out Ł©(ą¹‘ā›į“—ā›ą¹‘)Ū¶

it’s easier than it seems if u get a pattern and take ur time. clothes are constructed in such specific ways that once u know why something does what it does ull be able to find off the rack stuff that you like so much easier just by seeing how it’s built. plus then you can also more easily repair ur stuff! itā€˜s a crucial skill n it’s wild how many people dont know how what theyre wearing was sewn

being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and it’s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about

i had it for a little over a year until i was like wow this is actually terrible! i genuinely think it has negatively impacted society by ruining people’s attention spans, having a horrific algorithm, and most of all by the most mind-numbing or outright harmful trends - fake words that people now use IRL (ā€œunaliveā€), trad wife tiktok, shein hauls, body-focused fitness vids that encourage fatphobia and unhealthy habits, shallow political/feminist theory and queer discourse, ā€œalpha maleā€ podcaster tiktok, encouraging overconsumption in general, trends ruining local spots or niche things… the list goes on
