I have always felt that tech house was a dirty word in dance music circles, far too often it reminds me of the following:
- generic tracks filled with cheesy risers, annoying vocals, repetitive beats that go nowhere - massive festival stages full of stimulant and alcohol fueled bros - in general, a soulless and commercial sound that is anodyne enough for people to keep dancing and not venture out into deeper waters.
enter B. McQueen, a French-English DJ/producer who has reinvigorated my love of this maligned genre. the sound is much more of a head trip and a eyes closed, heads down feeling in dimly lit dancefloors than fistbumping and shuffling at stage 1. this is music for the murkiest of clubs

a world tour of obscure-ish disco and funk music
best enjoyed if you love dancing to infectious melodies, vibing to funky basslines and occasionally feeling like you're a international super spy

Even if you end up having to go somewhere else, there still will be culture to get involved in, people to meet, things to learn, realizations to be made. All of that is still right there for you and it will be open in a way you won't even realize until you've done like a year or two. So it's truly still exciting times. As long as you feel generally good about the place you ultimately choose, your time is coming.
