lately I have become completely obsessed with ancient Mediterranean civilizations. from Ancient Greece to Rome to the Byzantine empire, I can not get enough of the stuff. this weekend I went to the art institute of Chicago and took a spin around their incredible antiquities collection, admiring all of the artifacts from a time in humanity when life was deeply aesthetic, gods and goddesses were beautiful and erotic, and objects were purposeful, infused with story, artful. I am already hankering for my next stroll through an exhibit of ancient treasures!!!!!
