I know I missed the boat on this one but I only just got around to listening to ten of swords and wow it is so good, especially and particularly “im so ill”, “a sword pulled from my back” (and the transition between it and “playing the hermit”). The second of these reminded me, in some abstract way, of one of my top favorite songs of all time which is mansion song by Kate Nash. Im not so good at saying things about music but I liked it a lot.

Still thinking about a solo night at Seattle‘s JarrBar in 2019 where the bartender was playing records and put this on. At that point I hadn’t listened to the record in years but it reignited my love of it, as well as reiterated the transcendent experience a good bar/bartender can facilitate. It’s a top-5 bar moment for me, and I don’t take that lightly.
