and then when I was four I watched a documentary where these volcanologists are doing field work and the volcano erupts and they’re horribly burned and killed and I was immediately like ohhh got it okay so. no way in HELL. still haven’t even watched Fire Of Love bc what if it makes me a) remember more about that documentary b) worse, feel I missed out on pursuing my one true passion.

Idk why I’ve felt so drawn to volcanoes lately but I’ve been wearing a lot of obsidian and have had Volcano by Eartheater and Smoke by Caroline Polachek on repeat. I need to go rewatch Fire of Love …

im rlly into volcanoes now. im a botany major learning abt them in my college oceanography class & I can’t get over the way they’re basically the dinosaurs of the earth & without them the earth would be uninhabitable... they give more to humans than they take away & it’s fascinating to learns abt the ties different cultures have with the volcanoes they live at the foot of. destruction & rebirth. creation happens more than once. thats what volcanoes teach

Seeing volcanoes up close like this is mind-blowing. Watching people pursue their passions, no matter the risk is a gift. Uses 16-millimeter footage and other material from this couple's archive. Stunning visuals.

stretching daily is, to me, where simply surviving ends and LIVING begins. I’m bad at being good about it, but I’m currently making a real effort to do it every single day.
