My gf grew up in Singapore and she says Fishmarket is the best Malaysian food in NYC. I don't have much to compare it to other than Kopitiam which is more of a breakfast/snack spot but wow this place rules. I don't understand how it doesn't have a line down the block... The original is down in the Seaport; the other day we tried the second location on Avenue A right next to Heaven Can Wait. The curried chicken was somehow even more delicious at FishMarket ii, but the laksa was probably ever so slightly better at the original location, though still insanely good in the East Village. I don't want this place to close for lack of business, please go there.

It’s at 100 Bowery, more on the fringes of Chinatown and not on one of the major tourist streets. Genuine Cantonese ā€œhole-in-the-wallā€ kind of place. You will not find a single non-Chinese person in there at any given time (except the handful of friends I’ve turned onto it). Sweet hardworking staff, super affordable, probably in danger of going out of business like a lot of the other old school Cantonese places in Chinatown. If you go, order Mushroom E Fu Noodles (Yi Mien) and Snow Pea Shoots with garlic.

Been eating Mamoun’s since I was a kid. Prices have gone up a little recently but still a great deal. $9.50 for a shawarma sandwich, make sure you ask for hot sauce. Baba ganoush platter rules too, you can eat some and then save the rest for a savory breakfast the next day

I had never heard this Rapture song before seeing it on my friend Jorge's IG story the other day. That's because it was only released on the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto IV. The track was produced by Timbaland and features a ridiculously cool combo of beatboxing and cowbell. Apparently it was a huge hit in Australia and nowhere else
