Did an eight week course on it, has really helped with my chronic pain and stress! Three part breath is particularly cool, it’s almost psychedelic and you can work through some serious emotional shit and cry and scream and laugh. highly recommend if your body has been keeping the score a lil too hard lately. Check out the Open app or Corpus Ritual by Jennifer Patterson :) she’s extremely based and actually not goopy at all. her book The Power of Breathwork is also a great place to start!

I read Breath by James Nestor (it was life changing) and am attending a breathing workshop over the weekend. It is simply amazing how much we can do for our bodies through breath. There is no feeling like connecting to your body through breath and movement.

deep breaths, paying attention to how your body feels, who knew it would make you feel better?

I know it’s a good meditation or yoga practice when my eyes spontaneously water and I feel a strong sense of relief, letting go of tension. I had the strangest realization that I’ve done yoga for my root, sacral, solar plexus, and heart chakras countless times, but despite knowing that one should run through each chakra from bottom to top like a ladder, I’ve only done yoga for the throat, third eye, and crown a handful of times, if that. Fell asleep AGAIN during this practice (third night in a row!) but during shavasana like a normal person.

Libby is and forever will be THAT GIRL and I recently discovered you can subscribe to basically any magazine via the newsstand feature. I am really enjoying flipping through NYmag and trashy celeb mags like Us Weekly on my phone—it feels like all the guilty pleasure of scrolling though social media but infinitely more fun and less draining. I also like reading food mags and the New Yorker!

this movie really defined an entire formative era of my life. I was an awkward frizzy-haired tween with glasses when this came out and I saw so much of myself in Mia. my best friend and I had the soundtrack basically memorized (Aaron Carter’s cover of Itty Bitty Little Pretty One lives rent free in my head, as does Miracles Happen by Myra). the love interest Michael (aka Robert Schartzman of Rooney fame) imprinted on my eros and continues to influence my type in masc women to this day. the movie also led me to the (superior if I’m being honest) book series, which played a HUGE role in shaping my taste and sense of humor and interest in pop culture references
