itās not a burden. being specific is the antithesis of interchangeability and thatās very cool these days. when something (way of doing a task / people / clothesā¦) matches your little chosen and well thought-thru specificities, itās a match made in heaven. more rare, but lasting and truthful. there is a good reason you love things THIS way. donāt bend to tone yourself down - but keep an open mind always - and be specific

š„°The best compliments for me are always really specific. in those moment I feel really seen, and itās the being seen I think rather than the necessarily the compliment that hits! Three examples:
- my producer when working on my EP said āyou have a great ear, Nancyā - a guy in my writers group when Iād not long joined told me āthe comments you make on othersā work is always a joy to listen to and I always find myself agreeing. you can tell it comes from compassion not judgementā - my boyfriend when weād just started seeing each other said āi like the texture of your brainā and then made a meme of his shitposting page saying āyour brain texture pleases meā. that was the height of romance.
