A movie fully committed to being unsatisfying. There is no payoff in this movie and it doesn't want you to think there will be. This will haunt me for a while. Directed by Gus Van Sant
It was just a movie about a monkey that kills people. No real end resolution, no overarching story, shitty motives, bad ending in general.
I do think the ending generally was โfunnyโ in a way but still bad๐ญ
I'm calling this a bad good movie. The craft is stellar with amazing performances. But the pace was exhausting and by the end I was left thinking "what was the point of it all?" Intricate but depthless.
I just watched this in the cinema last night and was completely bowled over by the plethora of opportunities they had to make it a good movie, and every single time they just did the exact opposite. It's STAGGERINGLY boring. Don't get me started on the fuckass wig they put my girl Tilda Swinton in. Also it's a musical. And I love musicals. And I did not love this one.
Also honourable mention to Emilia Pรฉrez which I think is the worst movie ever made maybe. But I think you can watch EP high with your friends and laugh.
