DOPPELGÄNGERS

for the past couple of weeks i've been seeing people around the city that look so much like people i used to know---i got on the subway with a guy who reminded me of an old teacher and i sat across the bar from someone who looked just like a roommate from college and i saw someone who looked like an ex-fling in the audience at my friend's show tonight. comforting in some ways that we're all more or less the same and that there will be pieces of us scattered everywhere by the people around the city.
