aidanaguirre that’s such a good name! the one I had growing up was a major chunk even though she was also a mini. I love full sized dachshunds too. Like they look so athletic it makes sense they were/are hunting dogs. Gus is one of the rare waifish wienies I think

chlonline you live in New York? They might have a wiener dog specific animal shelter. I know socal has one that tends to have elderly dachshunds. We got Gus from neighbors of family members. they weren’t breeders theyre just from the south and don’t spade/neuter their pets lol If you can’t adopt you should look at volunteering. I’ve done it before with local animal shelters and it takes a bit to get in but it’s worth it

Getting a dog is one of the best things I‘ve done in my twenties. My dog, Gus, makes my day, every single day. Sometimes he looks like a hot dog and sometimes he looks like a donut, but he’s 100% my boy.

my dog is derp
I have the most derp dog and I love him so much. He snorts a lot. instead of barking for your attention he snorts like a pig. He also sits like a diva with his legs to the side because of a surgery he got. Not to mention I’ve never met a dog with more uncanny eye contact: he either stares at you or can’t look you in the eyes, there’s no in between. he also enjoys sitting upright on the couch with his leg on the armrest? How does he know how to do that? This is William.

Not constantly marketing yourself
Sometimes you can just exist. you don’t (hopefully) need 50 hustles. You don’t need to be a writer and musician and artist and podcaster and influencer and girlboss or whatever. you don’t even need to signal how cool or smart or attractive you are. I know it’s hard cause I think our society incentives (forces?) people to be “on” all the time, but it’s probably better for your own sake to just exist for yourself and your love ones and to adjust your expectations of what a successful or meaningful life is.
Sorry for being pedantic, just know a lot of friends and family my age or younger that seem to be struggling right now in all sorts of ways. Just know, regardless of what anyone says or even what you say or do, that you guys have inherent dignity and you are worth something

Eat yogurt, kimchi/sauerkraut, miso, kefir, kombucha, pickles, certain soft cheeses cause they’re good for you
I never had a problem shitting I just like funky foods and pretending my gut is a nightclub where all the bacteria are dancing and having a good time like it’s osmosis jones or something
