vinyls are expensive, but CDs are not. there are clocks that can read CDs so you can wake up with Tasty by Kelis, Enema of the State by Blink 182 or whatever ambient medieval concept album. it’s cute, it’s easy to program, you‘re organically in contact with an object to access the art. the thrill to go on a hunt to find your fav albums ever for 2€, or the joy of making it yourself by printing the cover, crafting some mixtapes, offering it to your loved ones as a love langage. possessing your fav music again (if internet goes down, you’ll still be entertain), the immersion into an entire universe for an hour instead of just playing some parts of it on random mode…

I love listening and buying CD's as they're much more accessible/cheaper than vinyl but they are still kinda cool. Also a form of decor like I put them on my shelves

the music streaming economy is soulless and unromantic and we all hate it. physical media is a great but i don't have space for records and a turntable, so as an alternative i've built a modest CD collection that has turned into my pride and joy. thrift stores and records stores (and ebay lol) have some amazing picks and i've found most of mine for $3-8. my next project is to digitize the collection, maybe after that make a server for 'em, who knows...

vinyl is too expensive now so ive been collecting cds, it’s nice to have cds because my car is old and I have a cd player so they actually do get used. I don’t listen to my vinyls much at all but they looked cool on my wall at my apartments. Glad I’m getting practical use out of the cds 🥹

one day a therapist told me that when you « work on yourself », it´s like progressing with onions layers. it’s so simple but it sticked with me and helped a lot when I didn’t feel a lot of progress and got frustrated somehow. it reminds you also that you never know everything about yourself or the human nature and that’s ok, it’s a process and it needs time to reach deeper and deeper layers wish you the best in your journey 🌸
