Rec | I LOVE MY DOG

This is the only photo as my lock screen. Her name is Shadow and she is a 5 year old wire haired Jack Russel that had gorgeous puppies last year. Her name is shadow because she follow you around everywhere. I find that Jack Russels tend to be misunderstood, she is a very smart dog that is well trained and attentive. If you are looking for a good companion you should consider a wire haired Jack Russel. They do require a good bit of training(as do every dog), but once trained they know whats going on (although sometimes they do ignore you for the fun of it). They are energetic so they are a good companion take hiking or for long walks on the beach, but they are also content with sharing a day lounging around with their owner. I love Jack Russels and so should you

Oh I love her so much 😭❤️ sometimes I think my dog might be part Jack Russell because he has some of their traits which makes him a lot of work to take care of but a lot of reward :~)

Old Dogs

I’ve stumbled into caring for my family dog, a 3 legged lab who is very gray and very loving. Now I’m sold on having an older (5+ years) dog. Training a puppy is a 2-3 year process and old dogs are so sweet and teach you about patience and are easy to care for. Plus, dogs seem to get more vocal as they get older, which is fun Pic of old dog with amazing grandpa eyebrows, for context

Learn the native plants in your area

You will be surprised at how many of them are edible. Kahikatea trees (one of my fav trees) produce edible berries. They are some of the tallest trees in the forest, and yet maōri would climb them to hights over 200 ft were they battled with birds to collect these berries!!! It’s also good to learn invasive plants, but this can be a deep rabbit hole that depresses you - my friend is currently battling with an invasive plant known as moth weed and it haunts her every waking minute
