Living in a diy venue for a year now has taught me that spaces like this do no exist on accident. We are intentional, head strong, and determined to make a community worth gathering. Yeah support artists and music, but support local diy spaces. If you always dreamed of seeing MCR in a New Jersey basement or Minor Threat in a backyard, you’re wasting energy on nostalgia when it could be reality.
You don’t even have to do it all the time, quarterly, monthly, weekly, it doesn’t matter just invite your friends, strangers, neighbors into your house and throw a fucking rager.
To all my fellow diy venues, i love you. Continue partying as long as you can. Especially if you’re a queer space and NOTAFLOF. You fucking rock.
