But none that I know that capture that multi style feel of Hyperion unfortunately :( Simmons was really onto something here

domonique24ktgold I find Herbert’s writing hard to stick with, so just the first two up until now. I love the story and the vibes though, so number three is will be the book I start after finishing the revelation space series.

Hyperion by Dan simmons

A collection of heady short stories, similar to Ted Chiang, but set in the same galaxy. It was written to be like a sci-fi Canterbury Tales, so you get a little bit of everything.
The follow up, The Fall of Hyperion, is also worth a read.
I wouldn’t bother with the sequels after that.

The Revelation space series

Really good stuff, both epic in scale and fairly hard scifi.
The Ringworld Series is pretty interesting.
Rendezvous with Rama is a classic.
Standing on Zanzibar for something a bit more highbrow.
The Neuromancer Trilogy for that Cyberpunk edge (or the Bridge Trilogy which is a whole vibe)
The Cryptonomicon, although that might not be considered scifi?
Snow Crash is pretty fun too
