Making your friends or family a homemade gift will take the cake every time. I painted my dad a mug with a map of all his favourite hills on it and the man ate it upppp. My friend drew me a picture of a vase with my favourite flowers in it and I get all warm and fuzzy when I look at it.
People love when you take the time to know them and show that you know them.
it feels good to know that people remember what you like and what you’d appreciate

omg I personally would love a handmade mug I don’t think that’s boring!! you could maybe fill the mugs with snacks and gift cards or something else they like? like personalize it a bit to each friend

i recently discovered i love gift giving. also discovered i love personalizing gifts even more. i sat in the park and painted this for my friend who is having a house colding party (he’s utilizing the rooftop one last time). this was completely free hand and so fun to make. i have a letter making kit i antiqued and i taped one inside. this truly is how i love, through creativity! i’ve never had anyone make a gift for me but i would love nothing more.

There’s not a better gift in the world I don’t care how good or bad you are at it if there’s obvious love in it then it’s beautiful and I’ll cherish it forever above all else and take it with me everywhere. I personally could never hate a homemade gift

I overheard this conversation between two girls, where one didn’t want to lend the other a book because she liked to keep her books in mint condition (“you FOLD the corners ? Oh god no”). Like girl what ? (to each their own I guess??) surely that is the joy of books- for these pages to be passed around, shared, worn and tattered. For stories to be read and re-read, each time with new rips in the page or the ever satisfying feeling of folding a corner. Scars of your journey with the story.
I want the book to FEEL how much I loved reading it. To be loved is to be changed !! i will happily crack the spine of this fine novel and enjoy it !! Read it and weep sad book girl 🤚🏻
