This book infused more essence into my life in the three small days it took me to read it, and this is a book I will be returning to frequently. Like Maggie Nelson’s Bluets. They impress upon me similar feelings of awe and connectedness, both have given me that a-ha, Eureka! feeling. To feel understood, to feel read by the book you are reading, to feel like you were called to it at the time you most needed it, is a very lovely phenomenon that has happened only several true times in my life. This is one of them.

🧃to be honest, i felt a little uncomfortable while reading it, but i also think about it a lot now and i actually really enjoyed it! the journey that tsukuru tazaki goes on and the differences between his life and the lives of his friends is so interesting to me. uncovering that mystery as he goes & figuring out just what happened for them to have left him??? i couldn’t put it down!!
i think it’s not for everyone though. a lot of murakami’s works are like that to be honest, and like i said it made me go “eugh…” a little too… but if someone asks me for one of my favorite books i think i’ll continue to tell them it’s this, just because of how much the story’s stuck with me!!

📚it's a great book. I know - it's famous. Well, it is for good reason. I'm loving it right now. Inspiring. Moving. Making me cry once a chapter. Making me reconnect with my deep values in life. Good stuff.
