When I’m all alone I like to speak out loud what I’m thinking (usually in an accent) and record it on my voice memo app. It’s easier than sitting down to write in a diary and you then have a log of snippets into your world at that place and time to look back on (or not)

lately I have been talking and talking and talking into my voice memos app, thinking about getting some empty tapes and a tape recorder and transferring my form of journaling into this form. my mind moves so fast, it is nice to clear my thoughts in that way :-)

I have so many thoughts in my brain, and I usually just write down a few on my notes app. But I don't know why I haven't considered just recording a voice message for myself as I speak my mind! I've always wanted to have a YouTube channel and maybe this is the first step. Not only that, but my speech will improve by a lot. I could talk about topics on my mind, details, my day in general, things I've learned recently, an imaginary conversation, and so much more.

I record when I start to forget and listen back to remember—be here now. An act of documenting… when I'm crying out in laughter or suffering, tired right before bed, and a passage I just read, but most of all when I hear a sound never heard before.

My friend Mel just brought me a handmade pearl basket to hold my hard boiled egg, I cannot express the joy I am feeling right now.

you should know/say hi to the people on your commute not just to foster community and be a kind warm welcoming New Yorker (all the real ones are) but also because it will make you a happier person! my local garage boys tell me I’m a princess every day, the weed smoking guy on the stoop with the cool motorcycle tells me when my outfits are slaying, and the deli guy and I vent to one another about our love lives on the reg! we <3 human connection

Reset days are the key to avoiding burnout as a creative. Don’t think, don’t answer your phone, eat whatever you feel like eating, take a shower in the morning and a bath at 2pm, exist in a robe all day. your creative juices will recharge and you’ll thank yourself later.
