I've been on "Team Hudson" since How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a romantic comedy where she is at her best in. She's had a weird career, both better than you imagine, and less good than I thought she could have had. She's a likable and distinct actress in her physical comedy and her ability to play women who are more competent than you would imagine they are. Maybe that's incorrect, but it feels that way when you break her career down. Still, she is always a solid performer in movies, an unquestionably likable actress. (I also give her credit for being A-Rod's girlfriend during the 2009 Yankees World Series run). She was likable when she played a groupie in Almost Famous, a bride to be in Bride Wars, one half of a divorced couple searching for gold in Fool's Gold. It is the light in her face, the goofiness in her movement and the hope that she radiates in her movies. She is famous, and she is a very good comedic actress.
That continues in Running Point, a new show based on Jeanie Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. On Running Point, Hudson plays the owner of the L.A. Waves, a famous organization once owned by her dad. (hence, it being based on Jeanie Buss). I'm into the show, and how good her outfits are, and how it takes the girl boss model and makes fun of it, while also celebrating the idea of women being successful. I think there's a trad wife trend happening within women that is not very healthy, despite how humorous it might be to me --- a Black man in America that has had his fair share of issues with white feminism. Running Point understands that it is cool to see women successful.
