In Davis Square, Somerville. 2 months away from Boston and this is what I crave most. I get the smoky turkey or grilled chicken #2 (or #1???? it’s the one with fresh mozz.) Ciabatta roll always. Never toasted, toasting is for sandwiches with cheddar. Just trust me. U know it’s good cuz they put salt+pep+evoo drizzle in between the tomatoes and onions.

So glad Dave’s is still consistently great (and there given what’s changed in Davis). I too miss eating those sandwiches in that little park.

- a classic ham + cheese made at home on toasted bread w mustard + mayo - a really good fried chicken sandwich from anywhere - the “simon special” from Roxie Food Center in San Francisco: turkey + pastrami w melted cheddar on Dutch crunch - the “sofisticato” from sapori d’eccellenza in Ostuni, Italy: stracciatella, lemon zest, and anchovies (I think about this sandwich a lot)

I don’t have a name for this one but its bitchin’

thick toasted bread (I like Sara Lee artesano sandwich rolls)
spread mayo (Duke’s only you know the fucking vibes) and honey Dijon on each side generously to make a dijonaise on the fly
stack it with fried turkey breast, melted gouda cheese and prosciutto or capicola or some Italian meat
butter lettuce, THIN (use the sharpest knife) tomato slices, spicy bread and butter pickles, red onion dressed with oil and vinegar, sweet peppers or giardinera, oregano, salt and pepper. its so addictive and I kind of want one now

TOMATO SARDINE SANDWICH

ive had 3 in the last 24 hours. easy. ricotta, carmelized onion hummus, heirloom tomato, smoked sardines, black pepper, alfalfa sprouts, balsamic glaze. ive started splurging on good bread and it's so worth it
