putting on nature sounds to read

i used to read a lot as a kid but as i’ve gotten older and fried my brain with social media and drugs i’ve been really struggling to get into a book. i find i get distracted easily without some kind of auditory stimulation but if i put on music or tv i don’t pay attention to the book. spotify nature sounds playlist tho? its like it shuts me off from all of the distractions and i actually start to care about my book again. i’m reading the plague by albert camus right now, ill let you know if i end up finishing it this time

reading without listening to music

haven't been on here for a month (taking breaks is nice :D) but i recently started turning off my music while reading and although it made me feel like a psychopath when i first did it, i'm actually loving the change ! i implemented it halfway thru reading crime and punishment and it was nice, i think i got more immersed
