quality AC, amazing art, some are close to parks so if it’s not in the 90s you could take a little mid-day stroll, and there’s enough museum options that regardless of your interests won’t be bored. some museums are open even later on specific days so you might be able to continue into the evening!

i love going to museums on my own sometimes because it lets me walk around and look at stuff at my own pace and i can contemplate on whatever i want. or go to cafes or parks and read some books:-)

solo trip to the art museum

bonus points for headphones. double bonus points if its a museum you’ve been to a few times. triple bonus points if you use your old student ID to get a free ticket. i love checking up on my favorite works like they’re my good friends. i curate the music for museum trip and i get to look at the other museum goers like they’re a part of the museum (because they are!)

Date your friends

(Not literally.) I’m of the belief that platonic relationships are just as important as romantic ones. Build a community of folks who meet you where you are and with whom you feel safe and vice versa! In a perfect world they see all versions of you from rock bottom to ascending, not unlike the intimacy usually reserved for a lover. Fuck that heteronormative bullshit. Do that with your friends. They will give you grace and hold you accountable for foolishness. If you don’t have people like this, go out and make them. Work on yourself. Figure out your own likes and dislikes. Date yourself with such vigor, as if you were dating a new lover. That coupled with time passing ought to work wonders.
