Nothing is a better reset than sitting alone with the ocean. Growing up on islands gave me a love for the choppy waters that were never more than a few minutes away, and as an adult I’ve rediscovered the companionship that they provide. Sneaking to the beach on the way home from work or on a lunch break feels like getting away with something in the best way. The worse the weather and the rockier the beach, the better time you’ll have–especially if you have a warm car to retreat to.

you never have to worry about picking anyone up or getting there by a certain time, and as a person who likes to stay at the beach for a while ……. just go alone pls

I had been thinking about the fact that i’ve never been to the beach during wintertime and I’d very much love to, so I went on a day trip my dog. I had been feeling kinda blue for various reasons and instead of fuelling my melancholic state, walking on empty beaches with my headphones on and watching my dog run around was one of the biggest mood lifters as of late. I felt pacified in a way which my urban lifestyle would never allow me to. Just trust me and go to the largest body of water near you. It can be truly beautiful!!!

this is a subcategory of "doing things by yourself" but i love going to the beach by myself and saying "no one 😇" when someone asks who i went with. its so nice to quietly enjoy the waves and rocks and shells and birds and butterflies and feel a silent sisterhood with all the other girlies by themselves. we are by ourselves together . staring at the waves 🙂‍↕️
