converse’s “Three artists, one song” campaign

stumbling upon this campaign was the highlight of my day. @GREG had previously shown me the Gorillaz x André 3000 x James Murphy/LCD Soundsystem song “Do Ya Thing” and I was blown away. the “Three Artists, One Song” campaign released songs by unlikely collaborators, and it’s probably the coolest thing converse has ever done. some other collabs include Santigold x Julian Casablancas x N.E.R.D/Pharell Williams and Frank Ocean x some members of The Clash (Mick Jones, Paul Simonon) x Diplo. i linked a youtube playlist compiling these songs but i highly recommend checking out the 13 min version of “Do Ya Thing” !!!!!!!

There was a fun period of time about 15 years ago where alt rappers were sampling indie sleaze bands

ie. Childish Gambino/Sleigh Bells, Chiddy Bang/MGMT, etc. My favorite was Azealia Bank's version of Peter Bjorn and John's The Chills aptly updated to "The Chill$"
