Walking to a destination where you would normally drive, enjoying whatever you see along the way. Best if it’s a 4+ mile round trip

Preferably with no destination in mind. Could be done alone or with friends/a loved one, in whatever city you are currently in. Idk its my favorite leisurely past time. I always seem to stumble upon the most amazing places, maybe the same will happen for you.

Finished up some work at 5pm (same time as my bf) and we immediately walked from Ridgewood to Sunnyside. Took a super pedestrian unfriendly route to get there, like…side of road no sidewalk type walk. It was very enriching. I love walking through industrial areas to get to somewhere lush and green. It feels very magical realism/storybook-like. My life has been sitcom crazy and my brain has felt scrambled; long walks have been keeping me levelheaded and sharp. Good to have someone else to dissect your thoughts with but you can do it alone too. We walked for 4 hours ish

If I wanted to do this more regularly I’d need some better shoes but recommend at least across one neighborhood or two and have some stuff/gossip ready to talk about or don’t and let the boredom and street observation run it’s creative course

Add to it often — when you see a dog carrying a comically large stick, when a sandwich tastes especially good, when a cute baby waves at you. Look back at the list in times of despair.
