being a cat person but having a dog

i have Always been a cat person but on my 18th birthday my dad brought home a puppy (which is weird i was literally moving to college across the country the week after)
i mean i’m now more amenable to dogs because i. Have one but i will forever be a cat girly

the whole “dogs are better than cats” and vice versa debate is getting old

because to me if you can’t find room for both, then i just think you hate animals and that’s kinda a red flag
