of course we don't want to pathologize ourselves, but this has been one of the keys to unlocking and letting go of my patterns and learning where I can improve/what my triggers are. highly highly recommend

have to do a brain dump for my own sanity lol. i work in research which often requires literature reviews. my team is currently conducting a lit review on "healing-centered engagement" which is somewhat synonymous with "trauma-informed care" depending on the setting.
healing-centered focuses more on the fact that healing from trauma is a political process. it was a term coined by a professor named shawn ginwright. he believed that we should switch to healing-centered engagement rather than trauma-informed care. he believes that trauma informed, focuses too much on trauma and doesn't necessarily allow a person to heal.
the topic is very interesting and definitely has made me think a lot about the way we approach trauma and how we can heal from it. i figured i'd share this topic in case there's anyone that likes topics like this! (I have been working on this review for like 2 months therefore I needed to just dump this somewhere lol)

after five years of grad school and subsequent job search, i can finally say i have successfully changed careers 😭 i start my new job counseling kids at a community mental health clinic on Monday. yesterday was my last shift at the grocery store that was an escape from my horrible corporate job and a sustaining force throughout grad school. it’s so bittersweet to leave the sweetest coworkers i’ve ever had and the most fun i’ve had at work. it’s immeasurably healing to quit a job for only good reasons. my coworkers got me a cake, everyone wrote notes in a card, and the goodbyes throughout the day made my heart swell. i even got to tell the good news to my favorite instacarter 🥺 after i clocked out for the last time, my friends joined me for gelato at the cafe and we strolled the store for a final time, this time as simply a loyal customer.
